This specimen was lot 23086 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Peseta, 1953 (19-54). PCGS MS-64. Mintage of over 40 million, but with very few saved or set aside and the majority heavily circulated. Quite scarce at this level. Well struck with light even tone." This type was struck 1948-67 in large numbers and most dates are common. This date is scarce in uncirculated. Altho the date below the bust is 1953, the actual date is in the stars on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 50,000,000.

Specification: 3.5 g, aluminum bronze, 21 mm diameter.
