This specimen was lot 25546 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VI gold 1/2 Escudo 1758 JV-S, MS62 NGC, stars flank the date, an attractive example of this early bust type with full mint luster." This Spanish half escudo struck in 1758 at the Seville mint. Assayer JV is recorded for the years 1757-59.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.0498 troy oz AGW.
