Shown is a Spanish eight escudos struck in 1704 at the Seville mint. Assayer P is recorded for the years 1704-1706. This specimen was auctioned by Marti Hervera in Barcelona, Spain, on May 3, 2011, where it did not sell. The catalog description reads:
"8 Escudos. 1704. SEVILLA. P. Rev.: S-8/8-P. Metal poroso, normal en estas piezas. (Grieta en cospel). RARA. MBC. (eight escudos of 1704, Seville mint, assayer P, Porous metal, normal in this type. Cracked flan, RARE, very fine.)"
This type was struck at Seville 1701-19.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.7982 troy oz AGW.
