This specimen was lot 7291 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 8 Reales, 1593/2-B. Seville Mint. Philip II (1556-98). NGC EF-40. Bold 4 digit date. Full shield and cross. Toned and attractive." This type is from Seville and was struck 1589-96. All these early Spanish pesos are rare. It is hammered.

Specification: 27.47 g, .931 fine silver, .821 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.4 gms.
