This specimen was lot 40775 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $4,888. The catalog description[1] noted, "SERBIA. 5 Dinara, 1879. PCGS PROOF-64 CAMEO Secure Holder. Type 1. Lightly toned." Davenport notes that this issue was minted in Vienna. In 1914, after twenty years of bad relations, Austra would declare war on Serbia, invade and occupy it.

Recorded mintage: 200,000 plus a few rare proofs.

Specification: 25 g, .900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW.
