This specimen was lot 2655 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $616.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sénégal. 50 Francs, 1968. 8th Anniversary of Independence. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo. WINGS." This coin was part of a commemorative program that included gold ten, 25, 50 and 100 francs. Senegal, which uses the CFA franc, has never issued coinage for circulation.
