This specimen was lot 5610 in Sincona sale 4 (Zurich, October 2011), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Schwyz Dukat 1653. St. Martin zu Pferd mit Bettler. Rv. Madonna mit Kind. Selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Schwyz, ducat of 1653. Obverse: St. Martin divides his cloak with a beggar; reverse: Madonna and Child. Rare, very fine.)"
The SCWC notes this type for 1621, 1653 and 1674. All are rare. Schwyz is one of the three original cantons of the Swiss confederation, formed in 1291.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW; this specimen is 3,43 g.
