This specimen was lot 3759 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. Taler, 1870-A. NGC MS-61. Dark toning on obverse with golden toning on reverse. From the Rockaway Collection." This type, the only thaler struck for this principality in the nineteenth century, was struck in small numbers 1859, 1865 and 1870. Despite the small mintage, it is available.

Recorded mintage: 11,000.

Specification: 18.52 g, .900 fine silver.
