Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ("S.R.") in 1789
This specimen was lot 1377 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €340 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1711 FÜRSTENTUM Ludwig Günther II. 1767-1790. Konv.-Taler 1780, Saalfeld, auf die zweite Vermählung seines Sohnes, Erbprinz Friedrich Karl, mit Auguste, Tochter des Herzogs Johann August von Sachsen-Gotha. Attraktives Exemplar mit herrlicher Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Louis Gunther II, 1767-90, convention thaler of 1780, Saalfeld mint, on the second marriage of his son, Crown Prince Friedrich Karl, to Auguste, daughter of the Duke Johann August of Saxe-Gotha. Attractive toning, choice extremely fine.)"
This is the third of five thalers issued by this fragment of the Saxon duchies in the eighteenth century. The line survived until World War One.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
