This specimen was lot 31605 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II Proof 5 Kopecks 1900 СПБ-ФЗ PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, St. Petersburg mint. An excessively lustrous gem, exuding tremendous eye appeal and radiating brilliance. The fields are exceptionally mirrored and flawless, and truly transfix the viewer. Currently the finest graded of the date by NGC." This type is listed for 1867-14. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs.
