This specimen was lot 40757 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,998. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1851-CNB NA. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Attractively toned." This type was struck 1832-58 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. This date is known with an 1851/0 overdate.

Recorded mintage: 2,400,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, .868 fine silver.
