This specimen was lot 1521 in Jean Elsen sale 120 (Brussels, March 2014), where it sold for €980 (about US$1,611 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIE, Alexandre Ier (1801-1825), AR rouble, 1802 A[..], Saint-Pétersbourg. Bitkin, 28; Uzd., 1336. Léger défaut de flan. Très Beau à Superbe. (Russia, Alexander I (1801-25), silver ruble of 1802, St. Petersburg mint. Small planchet defect, very fine to extremely fine.)"
The SCWC records this product of the St. Petersburg mint (СПБ) for 1802-05. The type is much scarcer than later rubles of Alexander I (1811-26).

Recorded mintage: 5,360,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, .868 fine silver, .578 troy oz ASW.
