Russia 1726-MA 5 kopeks
This specimen was lot 112 in Sincona sale 12 (Zurich, October 2013), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$1,035 including buyer's fees). The catalog description noted, "5 Kopecks 1726, Kadashevsky Mint, M. Bitkin 243ff. Very fine-extremely fine. Obv. M slanting, broad tail, centre crown open." The five kopeks was a workhorse denomination and was struck in large numbers from multiple mints, especially after 1758.
