This specimen was lot 815 in Jean Elsen list 269 (Brussels, July-August 2014), where it was offered for €1,300 (about US$1,769). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, REUSS-EBERSDORF, Heinrich LXXII (1822-1848), AR double Taler, 1840 A, Très Rare. Petits coups. Superbe (Germany, principality of Reuss-Ebersdorf, Henry LXXII (1822-48), silver double thaler of 1840. Very rare, small nicks, extremely fine.)"
This type was issued in 1840 and 1847 and both dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,750.
