Kunker sale 263, lot 723
This specimen was lot 723 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,067 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1861, A. Seltener Jahrgang. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, double union thaler of 1861. Rare date, nice toning, extremely fine.)"
This type was issued 1861-63 and is fairly scarce, especially compared to Dav-783 of 1865-71.

Recorded mintage: 9,490.

Specification: 37.03 g, .900 fine silver, lettered edge.
