Sincona sale 6, lot 600
This specimen was lot 600 in Sincona sale 6 (Zurich, May 2012), where it sold for 1,900 CHF (about US$2,338 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Brandenburg-Preussen, 1701 Königreich. Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Friedrichs d'or 1798. Friedenstyp. Vorzüglich. (Brandenburg-Prussia, Frederick William III (1797-1840), frederick d'or of 1798, "peace" type. Extremely fine.)"
This is the scarcer of two types of friedrichs d'or struck in 1798. The other (KM 371) features the eagle on the reverse perched on cannons, flags and lances.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.68 g, .903 fine gold; this specimen is 6,63 g.
