This type was struck in Lisbon in 1910. King Carlos ruled from 1889 until his assassination at the hands of an anarchist in 1908. His son Manuel II, shown here, ruled for only two years before he was deposed and the Republic established. This one year type is common in all grades and is the last of its denomination.
