This specimen was lot 1376 in UBS sale 84 (Basel, January 2010). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PORTUGAL (Münzstätte Lissabon) João VI. 1799-1826. Principe Regente 1799-1816. Peça 1806. Vorzüglich." (Portugal, Lisbon mint, John VI, 1799-1826, prince regent 1799-1816, gold "joe" of 1806. Extremely fine).
This type was struck 1804-16 but is seldom seen compared to similar coins that were struck in Brazil.

Recorded mintage: 40,825.

Specification: 14.34 g, .917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW, this specimen: 14.23 grams.
