Peru 1963 100 soles
This specimen was part of lot 40313 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description noted, "PERU. 100 Soles, 1963. PCGS MS-63." This type was struck in Lima 1950-70 in limited numbers as a bullion coin. This date is relatively common. Gold five, ten, twenty and fifty soles were struck during the same period.
