This specimen is a middle date of a series of bronze centavos issued in Peru 1901-49. This date was minted in Philadelphia. Numerous varieties exist, depending on the spacing and size of the legends. In 1950, the coin was changed to zinc.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.

Specification: 5 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter, plain edge.
