This specimen was lot 31661 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 2 Escudos 1855 LM-MB AU58 NGC, Lima mint. Light rose toning around the devices and near the periphery, only faint traces of handling not affecting the luster." This type was struck in Lima 1828-29, 1833 and 1850-55 only and is not common. There is no mention of Cuzco or Arequipa striking this type.

Specification: 6.85 g, .875 fine gold, .192 troy oz AGW.
