This specimen was lot 6057 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $126.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. 8 Reales, 1833-MM (Lima). Republic. Standing liberty. Lustrous with lovely pastel toning. NGC graded AU-58. The Victor Jaramillo Collection." This type was struck at Lima and Cuzco 1830-36 and is rather common; the complete span of Peru standing liberty eight reales runs 1825-55. Assayer MM is recorded for 1831-35.
