This specimen was lot 25453 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $2,467.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 8 Escudos 1830-G Cuzco, MS61 NGC, an attractive coin with full mint luster and well-struck details. The obverse displays some faint hairlines, barely visible. Scarce in mint state and this piece has strong eye appeal." This type was struck at Cuzco 1826-45 and at Lima 1826-40 and 1850-55. This is one of the more available dates.
