This specimen was lot 3761 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $460. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. ½ Escudo, 1819-JP (Lima). Ferdinand VII. Laureate head right. Scarce type. NGC graded About Uncirculated, Details (Removed from Jewelry)." While eight escudos from Peru are reasonably available, the smaller gold denominations are all very scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, .875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
