Aureo sale 238, lot 192
This specimen was lot 192 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 220 euro (about US$349 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1814. Lima. JP. 8 reales. Atractiva. Parte de brillo original. EBC-/EBC. (eight reales of 1814, Lima mint, attractive, lustrous, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1811-24 for Ferdinand VII and is common. Assayer JP is recorded for 1803-23.

Recorded mintage: 3,599,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
