This specimen was lot 40304 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 8 Escudos, 1794-IJ. NGC AU-58. Lustrous." This coin was minted 1792-1808 and is the most common Peruvian colonial eight escudos.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, .875 fine gold, .761 troy oz AGW.
