Aureo sale 243, lot 785
This specimen was lot 785 in Aureo y Calicó sale 243 (Barcelona, April 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog[1] noted,
"1794. Carlos IV. Lima. IJ. 4 escudos. Golpecito en canto del reverso. Precioso color. Parte de brillo original. Muy rara y más así. EBC-. (four escudos of 1794, Lima mint. Rim nick on reverse, nice color, some luster, very rare in this condition, about extremely fine.)"
It is one of a series minted at Lima 1791-1807 for Charles IV. The type is considerably scarcer than the eight escudos.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, .875 fine gold, .380 troy oz AGW.
