This specimen is one of a series struck 1772-89 at Lima, Peru, during the reign of Charles III (1759-88). As a class, colonial coinage of Peru is much less plentiful than that of Mexico, tho it is more available than the remaining mints. Assayer MJ is listed for 1773-80.

Specification: 3.38 grams, .903 fine silver, .098 troy oz ASW.
