This specimen was lot 3731 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $2,070. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States - Papal/Roman States. Scudo d'oro, 1625. Urban VIII, 1623-1644. Bust right. Reverse: The Holy Door. Holy Year issue. NGC graded EF-40." This issue is one of three minted in 1625; the other two are merely listed as "rare." Called a scudo d'oro, it matches the gold ducat in size and weight.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.50 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.
