Papal St Fr-15a rev Tom F.jpg

Paul II (1464-71) is perhaps best known for his art collecting and for introducing printing to the Papal States. He accomplished little of note in his political career. This ducat, dated year 1, is scarce but, unfortunately, this specimen is damaged. The reverse depicts the pope receiving the keys of the church from Christ.

Recorded mintage: unknown but very rare.

Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-15a, Ber-399.
