This specimen was lot 31578 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nurnberg. Free City Taler 1768-SR, XF, once cleaned. A popular City View type." This type is one of several thalers (including Dav-2498 and Dav-2495) issued in Nuremberg in 1768, all scarce to rare. This particular type was also issued 1765 and 1780.
