This specimen was lot 1535 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $117.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY: Christian VII, 1766-1808, BI 2 skilling, 1785. Initials HIAB, EF." Altho the Danish monarchy minted this denomination for Norway throughout the eighteenth century, this type of 1778-88 is by far the most common. It was accompanied by billon one skilling (KM 258), four skilling (KM 256) and eight skilling (KM 257).

Recorded mintage: 3,531,000.
