This specimen was part of lot 2182 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), which sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "NICARAGUA. Complete Set of (3) 1,000 Cordobas, 1984. Fr-8-10; KM-52-54. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the murder of General Augusto Cesar Sandino. Each piece has a mintage of just 1,000 pieces, and each features a different design (facing bust, three generals & his birthplace). All 3 with hard mirror fields and frosted devices. No spots, tone, or fog and highly attractive. From the Richard Stuart Collection." This gold issue (KM 52, 53, 54) was accompanied by three silver commemoratives (KM 69, 70, 73) and a circulation issue.
