This specimen was lot 2181 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "NICARAGUA. 1,000 Cordobas, 1980-Mo. Mexico City Mint. NGC PROOF-68. Mintage of just 6,000 pieces. Commemorates the first anniversary of the revolution. Tied with just two other examples for finest certified at either NGC or PCGS. From the Richard Stuart Collection." This gold issue was accompanied by three silver commemoratives (KM 45, 46, 47) and a circulation issue.
