This specimen is from a type struck 1939, 1946, 1950-56 for Nicaragua, and is the scarcest date. It is superseded at silver type (KM 14) now scarce. The late twenties marked a period of anarchy for Nicaragua, ending in the early thirties when the U.S. connived at the takeover of power by Somoza.
