This specimen was lot 6150 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $282. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Newfoundland. Cent, 1865. NGC MS-64 BN. Sharply struck, soothing milk chocolate tone with lustrous hints." The type was struck in London and Birmingham for the colony of Newfoundland 1865-96.

Recorded mintage: 240,000, a slightly better date.

Specification: bronze.
