Aureo sale 291, lot 1050
This specimen was lot 1050 in Aureo sale 291 (Barcelona, April 2017), where it sold for €550 (about US$706 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1693. Carlos II. Nàpols. AG/A. 1/2 ducat. Ex Colección Crusafont 27/10/2011, nº 1544. Ex Colección Ramon Muntaner 24/04/2014, nº 1040. MBC+. (kingdom of Naples and Sicily, Charles II, half ducat of 1693. Choice very fine.)"
This coin, denominated fifty grana, is not listed in the SCWC. The SCWC lists its larger sister, the ducato, under the kingdom of Naples, then under Spanish rule. This type is listed for 1693 only. The degenerate Charles II was the last Hapsburg king of Spain.
