Sincona sale 11, lot 1822
This specimen was lot 1822 in Sincona sale 11 (Zurich, May 2013), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,476 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN Neapel - Sizilien Repubblica Neapolitana, 1799. 12 Carlini AN 7, 1799. Min. just. Gutes vorzüglich. (Neapolitan Republic, twelve carlini of 1799. A few adjustment marks, good extremely fine.)"
This one year type was issued by the shortlived puppet Neapolitan Republic (1798-99) while Ferdinand IV fled to Sicily.
