Munsterberg-Oels 1620-BH thaler Dav-7097
"Taler 1620. Öls. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Schlesien-Münsterberg-Oels, thaler of 1620, very fine to good very fine.)"Silesia is considered a German State even tho the province was then under Austrian rule and is now in Poland. This type, listed for 1619-20 only, is rare like all the thalers of this locality. The coinage ceased when the last of the local dukes died in 1647. Munsterberg passed to Austria while Oels passed to a junior branch of the duke of Wurttemberg, who resumed coinage in 1674.
Recorded mintage: unknown but very scarce.
Specification: silver, this specimen 28.45 g.
