This specimen was lot 2851 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1920-M. Sharply struck. NGC MS-64." This type was struck 1920-45 in large numbers. No dates are rare tho some dates, such as this one, are scarce in nice condition. Reductions in size and fineness in 1918 and 1920 reduced the peso to half the silver of the "Caballito" peso. A rare overdate, 1920/10, exists.

Recorded mintage: 8,830,000.

Specification: 16.66 g, .720 fine silver, .385 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 455.
