This specimen was lot 22332 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1909-MoGV. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder." The type was struck at Mexico City 1898-1905 and 1908-09. Mint officials did not intend to revive the liberty cap peso for the 1908-09 issue but were forced to this expedient as the Caballito design was not ready.

Recorded mintage: 2,924,000 (common in all grades).

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
