Shown is an 1894ZsZ balance scale five centavos, of a type struck 1870-1897. This issue from Zacatecas is common. Other mints include Hermosillo, Mexico City, Durango, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Alamos and Potosi. A 1894"ZOZ" error exists (see the second specimen). The Zacatecas mint closed in 1905.

Specification: 1.35 g, .903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.
