This specimen was lot 953 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, December 2009), where it sold for $103.50. The catalog description noted, "MEXICO. Republic. 8 Reales, 1893 Go RS. Guanajuato. Eagle on snake. Rv. Cap in rays, Resplandor. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated." This date was struck towards the end of the Guanajuato series of eight reales, issued 1825-97. It is common in all grades. The SCWC lists no overdates or varieties.

Recorded mintage: 3,854,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
