This specimen was lot 2799 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $345. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Mexico City. 8 Reales, 1891-MoAM. Lightly attractive toning. NGC MS-64." The Mexico City mint issued this type 1824-97 and most dates are readily available.

Recorded mintage: 8,076,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
