This specimen was lot 2796 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $603.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Mexico City. 8 Reales, 1890-MoAM. Lightly toned. NGC MS-65." The Mexico City mint issued this type 1824-97 and most dates are readily available. Assayers AM and MH are both recorded for 1890.

Recorded mintage: 7,412,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
