This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1871-72, 1883-89 at the Culiacan mint, which closed in 1905. This twenty-five centavos piece replaced the two reales struck since colonial times.

Specification: 6.77 g, .903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.

Recorded mintage: 86,000.
