Mexico 1883 1 centavo
From CoinFactsWiki
This specimen is one of a type struck in Mexico 1882-83 along with similar two and five centavos pieces. It was an attempt to emulate the American introduction of small copper cents and copper-nickel five cent pieces and it was a flop. In 1886, the Mexico City mint resumed striking the old style large copper centavos.
Recorded mintage: 99,955,000 for 1882-83.
Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 16 mm diameter, plain edge.
