Shown is an 1883/73Mo-M 2½ pesos gold piece, of a type struck at Mexico City 1870-92. The type is also recorded from Culiacan, Durango, Guanajuato, Alamos, Hermosillo and Zacatecas but Mexico City is by far the most prolific issuer. The SCWC does not list a normal date for the year. The series, never popular, ended in 1893.

Recorded mintage: 400 pieces.

Specification: 4.23 g, .875 fine gold, .119 troy oz AGW.
