This specimen was lot 8678 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $1897.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 20 Pesos, 1883/2-GoB. Nice strike, PCGS MS-61." This issue from Guanajuato is among the more available dates, tho the overdate is listed as scarce. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Mexico City and Alamos.

Recorded mintage: 3,705.

Specification: 33.84 g, .875 fine gold, .952 troy oz AGW.
