This specimen was lot 1398 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,993.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Pesos, 1882-DoC. NGC MS-64. One of three Durango 10 Pesos tied for finest certified by NGC. A stunning example." The Durango mint struck this type 1872-84 with most dates being rarer than the SCWC indicates.

Recorded mintage: 1,528 (including assayer C).

Specification: 16.92 g, .875 fine gold, .476 troy oz AGW.
